Financial Aid

Office of Financial Aid

A degree from North Central College is an investment with lifelong returns. Our financial aid team partners with you to maximize resources based on your needs. We are dedicated to making sure cost is not a barrier to a comprehensive liberal arts education. For questions about your financial aid, call or email: (630) 637-5600 or finaid@noctrl.edu.

Financial Assistance Programs

The Office of Financial Aid administers federal and institutional programs, the most prominent is the Federal Direct Loan program. Due to the different criteria and requirements of each program administered, detailed descriptions of the aid programs available and the rights and responsibilities a student assumes when accepting financial assistance are provided in the Financial Aid Handbook located at https://www.northcentralcollege.edu/aid-costs/financial-aid-policies and our website https://www.northcentralcollege.edu/tuition-aid/graduate.

Eligibility for Aid

To be considered for federal aid, a student must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at https://studentaid.gov. Continuing students must also meet satisfactory academic progress under the guidelines provided at https://www.northcentralcollege.edu/aid-costs/financial-aid-policies.

Loan Requirements

In order for a student to receive a Federal Direct Loan, the student must complete Entrance Counseling sign a Master Promissory Note. The entrance counseling is designed to provide students with information about the loan programs. The Master Promissory Note is an agreement to the rights and responsibilities as a borrower. Students are also required to complete Exit Counseling upon graduating, enrolling below half time or ceasing enrollment. All requirements can be completed at http://studentaid.gov.

Veteran Benefits

Veterans and their dependents are entitled to use their chapter benefits in accordance with the rules of the Veterans Administration while attending North Central College. Applicants are required to complete and submit appropriate documents in order to establish their eligibility. For further information, contact the Office of the Registrar at (630) 637-5252.

Veterans Affairs Pending Payment Compliance

North Central College will not take any of the four following actions toward any student using U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Post 9/11 G.I. Bill® (CH. 33) or Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (CH. 31) benefits, while their payment from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs is pending to the educational institution:

• Prevent the student from enrolling

• Assess a late penalty fee to the student

• Require the student to secure alternative and/or additional funding

• Deny the student access to attending due to pending payment

In order to qualify for this provision, the student should produce the VA Certificate of Eligibility (COE) by applicable required financial payment dates. VA students must notify the financial aid department each academic year of their intent to use their benefits for certification purpose and provide additional information necessary to the proper certification of enrollment by North Central College.

Tuition, fees and other costs are equitable for all students, regardless of veteran status.

Payment of Tuition and Fees

All tuition and fees are due in full on or before the beginning of each term. Exceptions must be approved by the Business Office Student Accounts. Billing statements are available several weeks in advance of the due date. A late payment fee will be charged for any unpaid balances. The College reserves the right to withhold a student’s diploma, the degree, and a transcript of credits or course grades, as long as any bills owed the College remain unpaid.
