The library staff offers orientations, workshops, and classes to teach patrons how to access the wealth of information available to them. In addition to books, periodicals, videos, cds, and electronic reference resources housed in Oesterle library, the library’s webpage (http://library.noctrl.edu/) offers access to online catalog, databases, and online reference sources. Members of the College community may also borrow materials from 56 other academic libraries in Illinois, either in person, online.

Career Development Center

The staff in the Career Development Center (CDC) provides career counseling, computerized assessment, programming on relevant issues, job search strategies, plus resume, cover letter and interview preparation. The office houses a library with resource books, CD-ROMs, directories, and computers where students can research companies and prepare themselves for the job market. The services of the Career Development Center also include on-line job listings, job and internship fairs, resume referrals, credential files, resume critiques, and mock interviews. Lists of part-time and full-time job vacancies are also available.

Office of International Programs

The Office of International Programs (OIP) is here to assist you in all aspects of your adjustment to living and studying in the United States.  we can assist you with questions about academics, immigration procedures and regulations, housing, employment and community life.  Make sure to take advantage of our International Student Handbook to prepare you for your upcoming experience at NCC. North Central College also has an active International Club that organizes several events throughout the year in addition to those hosted by OIP.  There are a variety of highlighted events and activities throughout each term including the highly anticipated International Festival, every winter term, where the many cultures represented on campus and in the community have the opportunity to present their culture through food and various types of entertainment.

Writing Center

The Writing Center offers thoughtful support for writing, reading, and critical thinking across all classes.  The Writing Center is open afternoons and evenings throughout the fall, winter and spring terms to work with you on any aspect of your writing, from grappling with assignments and jotting down ideas, to initial drafting and revising.

The Wring center is for all levels of writers as Writing center Associates (successful student-writers sharing their expertise) also work with a wide range of students from across the College who are looking for a careful critique of their writing.  The primary commitment is to help students become a better writer and thinker. Results vary depending on the needs of the student.
