BIO 109 - Genes, Genomes and Genethics3.50 credit hours This course introduces key concepts of modern biology while focusing on important questions at the interface of science and modern society. Both the science and the implications of such advances in genetic technology as screening for genetic diseases, DNA fingerprinting, stem-cell therapy, genetically modified organisms and gene therapy are discussed. Laboratory required.
