EDN 436 - Teaching Methods for Students with Special Learning Needs1.50 credit hours Explores effective ways to address the learning needs of students with identified disabilities. This will include differentiated instruction and co-teaching as well as research-based interventions, accommodations and modifications to support students in the following areas: social, behavioral, organizational, environmental and instructional. Emphasis will be placed on approaches to learning and teaching and the role of the general educator with students receiving special education services. Candidates will explore the selection, adaptation and development of instructional supports in the area of lesson design and presentation, materials, assignments and assessment/evaluation. Concurrent enrollment in EDN 330 .
Prerequisite(s): EDN 200 or EDN 228
