HST 280 - Europe’s Age of Mass Hysteria3.00 credit hours A survey of the rise of modern nationalism, imperialism, class conflict and war in Europe during what historians call “the long nineteenth century,” from 1789 to 1918. Topics emphasized are the French Revolution, the creation of nations, issues of class, gender and race, the “new” Imperialism and the First World War.
Prerequisite(s): One humanities or social science course. Core: Humanities or Social Science.
