BIOL 240 - Biostatistics2.00 credit hours Introductory statistics course, centered on using statistical methods to design, analyze and interpret scientific data in the biological sciences. Examines types of data and variables, descriptive statistics, experimental design, hypothesis testing and the scientific method. Covers probability, analysis of variance/covariance, correlation, regression and non-parametric statistical methods. Throughout the course, the application of statistical techniques in biological science is emphasized, using data from laboratory and field studies.
Prerequisite(s): BIOL 220 . Cardinal Directions Designation(s): Quantitative Analysis.
