EDUC 228 - Elementary Methods: Social Studies4.00 credit hours Introduction to methods of teaching social studies in the elementary and middle grades classroom including instructional and assessment strategies. Emphasis on direct teaching, interactive instructional strategies and assessment strategies that develop the skills and processes needed to help elementary and middle grades students acquire foundational, conceptual and procedural knowledge.
Prerequisite(s): EDUC 101 and PSYC 100 ; and HIST 222 or HIST 224 or HIST 226 . Concurrent enrollment in EDUC 260 and EDUC 291 .
