MOCT 532 - Mental Health Assessment and Intervention 3.00 credit hours This laboratory course introduces the student to the role of the occupational therapist working with clients across the lifespan experiencing mental health and psychosocial issues that impair function. Students learn the evaluation and treatment of mental health disorders in populations across the lifespan and their impact on occupational performance areas and components. Laboratory sessions emphasize the application of intervention theory, evidence based practice and treatment techniques for specific conditions. Topics include mental health disorders that various clients experience and techniques used to restore, maintain, modify and prevent disability.
Prerequisite(s): MOCT 531 and MOCT 534 .
