EDUC 228 - Elem/MS Social Studies Methods and Assessment4.00 credit hours
Introduction to instructional methods of teaching social studies in the elementary and middle grades classroom to foster foundational, conceptual, and procedural knowledge. Includes principles, methods and techniques of assessing student learning to inform teacher decision-making, foster student goal-setting and communicate progress to family stakeholders.
Prerequisite(s): EDUC 101 , PSYC 100 ; and HIST 222 or HIST 224 or HIST 226 . Concurrent enrollment in EDUC 260 and EDUC 291 .
