PHYS 265 - Physics III: Quantum Physics with Lab2.00 credit hours An introduction to quantum physics. Quantum phenomena and the experiemental motivation for quantum physics. The Schrodinger equation, analysis of one-dimensional potentials, the hydrogen atom and the electronic structure of multi-electron atoms as the basis for understanding the periodic table. Laboratory required. Credit may be earned for only 1 of PHYS 265 and PHYS 266 . Students may not receive credit for both CHEM 345 and PHYS 265.
Prerequisite(s): PHYS 162 ; MATH 253 or concurrent enrollment. iCon(s): Innovating the World.
