ENG 209 - Nineteenth- and Twentieth-Century British Literature3.00 credit hours A study of Victorian, Commonwealth and Postcolonial literature in historical and cultural context, giving special attention to the emergence of the modern British identity and the idea of empire. Students examine intersections among British writers and their counterparts in such countries as Canada, Ireland, India and South Africa.
Prerequisite(s): ENG 201 .
