Program Structure
This master’s program prepares students for successful careers in Computer Science. Students complete 10–13 courses depending on their prior computer science experience and whether they choose the seminar or project course.

Foundational Requirements (2 courses, 6 hours)
The following courses must be completed with a grade of B- or better before taking core or elective courses. These courses may be waived upon review by the MSCS program coordinator if similar undergraduate coursework where a grade of B- or better was earned.
Core Requirements (8 courses, 24 hours)
The following eight courses constitute the core of the degree and must be included in each student’s program:
Electives (2-3 courses, 6-9 hours)
Elective courses are selected in consultation with the MSCS Program Coordinator and the School of Graduate and Professional Studies. Included within this elective option is CSC 697 - Internship .
For students who choose CSC 694 - Capstone Seminar:
Three additional graduate CSC courses (9 hours), at least one of which is at the 600-level.
For students who choose CSC 695 - Master’s Project:
Two additional graduate CSC courses (6 hours), at least one of which is at the 600-level.
