International Business Administration, B.A. or B.S/MIBA

This program is designed for exceptional students majoring in areas outside the department of management and marketing to add a core of business knowledge to their academic portfolio. Students accepted into this program earn both a bachelor’s degree and the MIBA with the completion of 144-162 credit hours. The number of credit hours will depend on the completion of prerequisite courses that may be filled partially or completely with a student’s previous course work at the undergraduate level. Students interested in pursuing this option are urged to apply after their sophomore year. Normally, both degrees can be completed within five years.

Admission Criteria

Students with a minimum GPA of 3.333 may apply to the program anytime between the first term during their junior year through the first term of their senior year. All admissions requirements for the MIBA program must be met.

Program Requirements

This program enables full-time students not majoring in business to complete 12 hours of graduate work, normally completed during the senior year. Six of these hours count toward both the undergraduate and graduate degree. The other six hours are beyond the 120 hours required for the bachelor’s degree. Students graduate with a B.A or a B.S. degree at the end of their senior year. In the fifth year, they complete an additional 18-36 hours to complete the MIBA degree. Depending on the number of prerequisite courses required, some students may not be able to complete both degrees in five years and may need some or all of a sixth year to complete the graduate degree.
