Dance Minor

Theatre Practicum Requirement:

Three terms of Theatre Practicum in musical theatre, dance or choreography (THE 115 , THE 116 , THE 117  and/or THE 118 ) Practicum credit is given to students participating in any of our departmental productions. Students may get credit for: 1) Being in a show as a dancer 2) Working on a show in a production assignment having to do with dance. Examples include: Choreographer, Assisstant Choreographer or Dance Captain. Practicum courses may be taken for credit or no credit, and a maximum of six hours may count towards the 120 hours required for graduation. These hours are in addition to, not part of, the hours required for the minor.

• THE 246 - Jazz Dance
• THE 248 - Tap Dance
• THE 252 - Ballet
• THE 257 - Dance History

Six credit hours from the following courses:

• THE 247 - Contemporary Modern Dance
• THE 254 - Choreography
• THE 346 - Advanced Jazz Dance
• THE 348 - Advanced Tap Dance
• THE 352 - Advanced Ballet
• THE 399 - Independent Study
