MRWR 530 - Medical Writing for the Public

2.00 credit hours
The importance of evidence-based medicine and writing to distill scientific data for lay-audience consumption will be the central focus of this class. Writing to craft cogent persuasive arguments based on the evidence for journalistic pieces, as compared to the importance of impactful patient educational material delivered at the appropriate audience literacy level. The student will design and write a clear and confident press release, podcast and social media posts that conveys medical information in a way diverse consumers can understand.

Prerequisite(s): Admission to the MRWR certificate program.
