NURS 508 - Advanced Pharmacology, Pathophysiology and Physical Assessment for the Advanced Nursing Practice Specialist 4.00 credit hours This course is designed to prepare the advanced nursing practice specialist with a comprehensive foundation of advanced pathophysiology, advanced pharmacology and advanced health assessment concepts. Students will learn to utilize the tenants of person-centered care to foster a collaborative, belonging relationship with a diverse patient population across the lifespan. Clinical exemplars are used to assist students to integrate knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacology and assessment concepts for providing evidence-based care with diverse multi-generational populations. Ethical, legal, safety and cultural considerations of care are discussed, along with role and responsibilities of interprofessional team members. Learning experiences may include clinical experiences, simulation: high-fidelity, computer-based and virtual reality to achieve course learning outcomes and meet the program practice hour requirements to support accreditation.
