NURS 512 - Assessment and Evaluation Strategies in Nursing Education 3.00 credit hours This course is designed to introduce nurse educators to course-level assessment and evaluation strategies in nursing education. Students will learn how to use tools to evaluate student learning outcomes comprehensively and to utilize the course-level data to assess program effectiveness. Students will explore concepts of assessment, testing and evaluation in nursing education; which will prepare them for carrying these out as part of their roles. In this course, learners will analyze the qualities of effective assessment procedures, plan for testing, assemble test administration and test scores and prepare new educators to develop assessment methods, strategies for higher-level learning and evaluation in the classroom and online courses. Topics such as rubric development, clinical evaluation, evaluation of assignment instruction and supporting program accountability at the course-level are explored.
