The North Central College Medical and Regulatory Writing Certificate will prepare our students with the medical knowledge, clinical reasoning, technical skills and professional behaviors to become competent and evidence-based medical communicators committed to the scholarship of dissemination and advancement of public health literacy.
This certificate is designed for both recent college graduates and health professionals with strong foundations in either the liberal arts or medical/health sciences who desire to acquire and refine their writing skills to meet professional goals.
Program Learning Outcomes:
- Apply knowledge of medical and regulatory writing standards to the copyediting, analysis and creation of documents consistent with the target audience.
- Analyze medical and regulatory writing documents using clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills to determined consistency with scientific process, evidence-based medicine, regulatory bodies and target audience.
- Assemble, integrate and prepare graphics using common technologic platforms in order to represent scientific and regulatory data with visualizations speficic to logical argument and target audiences.
- Collaborate effectively with professional teams using the interpersonal skills and professonal behaviors expected of the medical regulatory writing community.
