NURS 525 - Foundational Concepts of Primary Care 7.00 credit hours Focuses on management strategies for human responses to acute and chronic complex health problems across the lifespan. Current research and epidemiological patterns in healthcare are utilized to identify and address relevant health issues. This course provides discussion, differentiation and application of concepts related to various clinical practice roles. This course requires 175 clock hours of clinical practice in which students will have the opportunity to utilize core nurse practitioner skills in primary care which include health promotion, risk screening and disease prevention. Clinical settings allow students to apply assessment and intervention strategies to assist the client with maintenance and restoration of their wellness.
Prerequisite(s): NURS 506 and NURS 507 .
